  • In July 2008, we fell into financial hardship and realised that due to increasing prices and the credit crunch taking its toll, we had more money going out than we had coming in. We were advised to talk to Debt Response but I put off making that first phone call as I was afraid that we would be judged because of our financial problems. Eventually, I managed to pluck up the courage and I made that phone call. I quickly realised that I didn't need to give any excuses! I spoke to a love woman named Kerry who was friendly and sympathetic to our situation. She spoke to us in a calm and reassuring manner and she made an appointment to come to the house and meet us. She took all our information with her when she left, told us to stop worrying and they would help us. They did help us. Andy, the Manager and Kerry passed all our information on to a Legal Practitioner and a case was put forward for us to be approved for an IVA. Tenon were the legal practitioners and they too, were kind, understanding and very very helpful. We didn't have to do anything else.

    There was one thing in all of this which was very, very hard to do - it was making that first phone call!!!! Nothing else was difficult and we now live a normal life again, worry free.
